2019 Volkswagen Jetta vs 2019 Kia Forte in Montreal

2019 Volkswagen Jetta vs 2019 Kia Forte in Montreal
Here are two compact sedans, the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta and 2019 Kia Forte, that you see for yourself starting this fall at your Spinelli Kia dealership.

We got our first look at the all-new 2019 Kia Forte at the Montreal Car Show near the West Island and Laval, where it made its Canadian debut, and it will be arriving at Kia dealerships this fall, although we still don't know the price. What we do know, however, is that it will be safer, more fun to drive, more energy efficient and will include more innovative technology.

They've also revamped its look, lengthening its hood and shortening the trunk to give it a sportier feel. Its grille was also modified and is now flanked with air curtains to improve its aerodynamics. Behind, a horizontal trim connects the taillights. Longer and wider means there is more leg room and space in the trunk.

The 2019 Forte now has a more rigid structure and improved seat comfort thanks to its better lumbar support and denser foam. An 8-inch touchscreen, a quieter interior, a new dashboard with a more horizontal design, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the integrated UVO infotainment and telematics system, are only a few of the changes to the new 2019 Forte.

The 2019 Volkswagen Jetta also wins, or rather loses, a few features...they've reduced the trunk from 440 litres to 399 litres. There is only one available engine, the 1.4 litre 4-cylinder with 147 horsepower that is combined with a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Selling at a starting price of $ 22 890, the 2019 Jetta will surely be more expensive than the 2019 Forte, whose price should be around $18,000, if its 2018 price tag is anything to go by. Some automotive journalists have even claimed that the Jetta has lost its typical German DNA and, therefore, also lost its attractive features and dynamic driving.

To see for yourself that the Kia Forte is now far in the lead, come take it for a spin while you're waiting for the new 2019 vintage to arrive. And it won't be long since we know it will be arriving in Montreal dealerships in DDO, the West Island and Laval this fall. You'll also be able to take advantage of Kia financing and promotions.
